CMOP is the first framework to acknowledge and find a place for spirituality in human occupation and this is positioned at the core of the person. This spirituality is shaped and expressed through occupations. Spirituality does not refer to religion, but the essence of self, the place Spirituality: Wife, Grandma, Mother. This publication contained a revised version of the CMOP known as the Canadian Model of Occupational Performance and Engagement (CMOP-E). This version of the model has added increased emphasis to the concept of engagement signified by the ‘E’. The CMOP-E approach is simple and suits acute physical field, in this case Mary may need to be referred to acute physical to gain the support in being able to walk again. Mary’s needs would be identified quickly and the areas that need to be worked on can be clear from using the model. CMOP-E considers occupational performance in three areas of daily function, namely self-care, leisure and productivity [10].
